Josh Holmes - A Lifetime Poet
Many years ago I decided to be a writer when I grew up. Then a short time after that I realized that I wanted to be a writer all my life... Not just when I grew up. When I saw I could write whenever I got the notion, I started doing so at an incredible rate because it was enjoyable. I basically started writing poetry right after I learned how to read. My first poem created was about the 4 seasons since I loved the outdoors. The next poem I wrote was about the creek that I enjoyed visiting during those early years of my life. I would walk from our house over the dusty dirt road to what was a very low-water bridge with muddy banks and crawdads. The next poem I wrote was about Sesame Street. So you can see how young I was and what I wrote about that inspired and/or influenced me early on. They were things I enjoyed doing. I have always enjoyed writing anything in any format. We should all seek to do constructive things with our lives and inspire others. We should enjoy doing it in that process as well. There is enough negativity out there. We should not add to it. We should inspire others, not bring them down with constant negativity. Negativity never edifies. But when you seek to inspire others, then you will be on the track to serving, and that is a true purpose. (Read more Here under "About".)

Poetry e-cards (I recommend netpoets.com)
Soon you will be able to find my poetry on a website or two that allow you to send poems and design greeting cards on almost any subject that you may send to whom ever you have in mind for almost any occasion you can think of. This will be a great opportunity for both the reader and the author; 1) For the reader: in finding and expressing words of friendship and compassion through the poem subject and 2) For the author: in that this helps in circulating content that brings awareness of the authors creation and work.

I completed 1 new poem in 2014.
This poem was requested as a poem about butterflies from a mother whose name is Sophie for an 11 month old girl whose name is Scarlett. She writes, "My 11 month old daughter, Scarlett, is seriously ill in hospital. She loves butterflies so i want to be able to read a poem to her about butterflies.
So i was wondering if you could write a poem about a butterfly that i can read to Scarlett"
